The REF Scholarships Programme is launching the e-based Application systems for all Scholarships Programmes in March, 2011. The On-line application systems will allow the interested applicants to apply in an efficient and interactive mode, receiving e-based feedback on the compliance with Programme eligibility requirements.
While currently the on-line Application is in the test phase, the Programme will notify the applicants about the launch of the Scholarship Schemes through the REF web page, as well as the outreach campaign planned for the middle of March.
The Renewal Students of RMUSP, LHP, RHSP and RISP will receive an e-mail notification for the start of the Scholarship Competition.
Please note that the deadline for the e-based application will be:
- April 30th, 2011 for RMUSP and LHP
- May 30th, 2011 for RHSP
- September 15th, 2011 for RISP

Roma Education Fund – Scholarship Programmes for Tertiary-level Students
Roma Education Fund has several scholarship schemes for students of Roma origin who are enrolled or intend to get enrolled in tertiary education institutions. The cycle for the 2011-2012 academic year is now opened. Interested candidates may apply in accordance with the guidelines specified below.

Starting with this cycle, the application process for all scholarship schemes will be electronic.

REF has four scholarship programmes available and currently opened for applications: Roma Memorial University Scholarship Programme (RMUSP), Law and Humanities Programme (LHP), Roma International Scholar Programme (RISP), and Roma Health Scholarship Programme (RHSP). Additionally, the beneficiaries of RMUSP and LHP are eligible for the Professional Development Fund (PDF).
The Roma Memorial University Scholarship Programme (RMUSP) offers merit-based open competition academic scholarships for Roma students, citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia or Turkey. Eligible applicants must be pursuing Bachelor, Master, or PhD degrees at state-accredited and well-acknowledged universities in their home country or country of residence.
The application deadline is April 30, 2011.

Law and Humanities Programme (LHP) offers merit-based open competition for academic scholarships for Roma students, citizens of Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
Eligible applicants must be pursuing Bachelor, Master, or PhD degrees at state-accredited and well-acknowledged universities in their home country or country of residence. Annually 50 students majoring in law and humanities fields are selected for the LHP scholarships.
The application deadline is April 30, 2011.

Roma International Scholar Programme (RISP) is designed to provide partial support to Roma students who are citizens of one of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, or Ukraine, for pursuing Bachelor, Master, PhD, or Postdoctoral education as full-time students at a recognized and well-established university outside of their home country or their country of residence.
The application deadline is September 15, 2011.

Roma Health Scholarship Programme (RHSP) supports Roma Students who are pursuing or seek to pursue Medical Education in Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Serbia in order to attain degrees of Medical Nurses and Medical doctors at State accredited and recognized Medical and Medical-vocation schools. The funds for the RHSP come from Roma Education Fund (REF) and Open Society Institute (OSI).
The application deadline is May 30, 2011.

Professional Development Fund (PDF) has as purpose to support the participation of the RMUSP and LHP beneficiaries in activities such as research projects, fellowship programs, summer schools, internships, or language courses within recognized universities, language schools and other organizations in their own countries or abroad in the 2011-2012 academic year.
The application deadlines for the 2011-2012 academic year are February 28, 2012 and May 30, 2012.
